Was Sie sofort prüfen sollten
Steht dort, was Sie tatsächlich vorhaben?
Was kein Änderungsantrag ist

Errors in the Funding Decision: You Only Have One Month
The funding decision is the document you have been waiting for — and that is precisely why it is so often only skimmed. A quick glance at the funding amount, then straight into the folder.
That can be costly. Because amendments to the decision are only possible within one month of notification.
What you should check immediately
Take the decision on the day it arrives and go through the following points:
Applicant. Is the correct name shown? For married couples, communities of heirs, and WEG (homeowners' associations), the person or group that will also receive the invoices must be the one registered. If the invoice recipient differs from the applicant, problems will arise when submitting the proof of use.
Property address. Typos count too. The decision must correspond to the building where the work is being carried out.
The approved measure. Does it reflect what you actually intend to do? If you are replacing windows and a front door, both must be recorded.
The funding amount and the underlying costs. Does the figure match the quote that was submitted?
The approval period. Note the end date in your calendar immediately — with a reminder six months in advance.
What happens if the deadline passes
Once the month has elapsed, the decision becomes legally binding in its existing form. A correction is then only possible by way of a new application — with all the consequences that entails: a new application means new framework conditions, which may by then be less favourable.
Things become particularly problematic when the error is only noticed at the proof-of-use stage. By that point, the work has been completed, the money has been spent, and the disbursement is being held up by a detail that can no longer be changed.
What does not constitute an amendment request
Not every discrepancy requires an amendment request. If the actual costs turn out to be lower than applied for, the grant will be reduced accordingly — this is normal and does not constitute an error in the decision.
What is critical are substantive discrepancies: a different measure, a different building, a different applicant. Such changes must be reported — and before construction begins.
Our advice
Do not file the decision away without reading it. Ten minutes on the day it arrives can, if in doubt, save you the entire grant.
If you are unsure whether a discrepancy is significant: ask while the deadline is still running. An enquiry to the funding body costs nothing — a legally binding incorrect decision does.
