Wallbox-Förderung in Bayern 2026
Was Sie trotzdem sparen können

In short: For a private wallbox (home EV charging station) at your own home, there is no grant in 2026 from either the federal government or the Free State of Bavaria. You can still save money, though – through your taxes and through offers from your local utility (Stadtwerk) or grid operator.
Federal funding KfW 442: ended
The KfW (KfW development bank) program 442 "Solar power for electric cars" (up to €10,000 for a wallbox, photovoltaics and battery storage) launched on September 26, 2023 and was fully used up on the same day. Applications are no longer possible, and no new round has been announced.
The federal program for charging points in multi-unit buildings does not help owners of a self-occupied single-family home either – they are expressly excluded from it.
Wallbox funding in Bavaria 2026
There is currently no state grant for private wallboxes in Bavaria. The earlier state program was discontinued. Bavarian funding for charging infrastructure currently targets publicly accessible charging points, not the wallbox in your own garage. Municipal programs such as Munich's funding program for climate-friendly drives have also expired.
What you can still save
- Tax bonus for craftsman services (§ 35a EStG, German Income Tax Act): You can deduct 20% of the pure labor costs for the installation – not for the device – from your tax, up to a maximum of €1,200 per year. With typical installation costs of €800 to €1,200, that is roughly €160 to €240. Requirement: an invoice and bank transfer, no cash payment.
- Stadtwerke (municipal utilities) and grid operators: Some Stadtwerke offer a bonus on the wallbox, usually tied to a green electricity or car charging tariff. Ask your utility directly.
- Reduced grid fees (§ 14a EnWG, German Energy Industry Act): New wallboxes above 4.2 kW are registered with the grid operator as a controllable consumption device. In return, your grid fees are reduced. This is not a grant, but it saves electricity costs every year.
Our advice
Don't count on a grant; instead, plan the wallbox together with a PV system and an electricity tariff. If you charge with your own solar power during the day, you save significantly more than any previous funding did. Before buying, ask your Stadtwerk about current promotions, and keep the craftsman's invoice for your tax return.
